Saving Myau

It's Space Century 342 on Palma in Camineet. Lassic's Robotcops attack and kill Nero. Alis takes Nero's sword to end Lassic's rule. She goes into search for the warrior Odin. Her adventure starts here! From the starting point, go to the gray building to the far east. This is the Camineet Warehouse. There you will find a treasure chest with 50 Meseta behind a closed door. You'll come back here later in the game for the hidden Dungeon Key. Next, visit the Armory. This will be the far west of the three shops. Purchase a Leather Shield and equip it to Alis. Finally, go to the northwestern blue house and obtain the Laconian Pot from Nekise who tells you how to find Odin.

Leave via either exit and save the game before going past the walled area. Move outside the entrance and level Alis up to at least level 4. At this level she learns Heal and will be powerful enough to survive battles. Just move back and forth at a safe distance. Go back to Camineet to the orange house by the east side exit. There you'll find Alis' friend Suelo who can heal your party for free. Save before you begin grinding experience again.

Before continuing your adventure, make sure to have 200 Meseta. Go slightly northeast to the town of Scion where Odin is supposed to be. Go to the Second-Hand Shop and you'll notice the item Secrets. You'll have to try and purchase this item three times before you can acquire the Roadpass. You'll need this to make your way to the Camineet Spaceport.

Now, you'll need at least 100 Meseta for the next part. Travel back to Camineet. Go to the skywalk on the west side of Camineet with two Robotcops. They will now let you pass with the Roadpass. Now, go the eastern shop and file for a Passport. This will allow for space travel. Answer the four questions accordingly:

  1. Do you want a passport? Yes
  2. Have you ever done anything illegal? No
  3. Do you currently have an illness? No
  4. The passport fee is 100 Meseta. Would you pay it? Yes
You'll now be issued a Passport. Walk west to the two Robotcops and pass through to board a space shuttle. Go ahead and travel to Motavia. You'll land at the Paseo Spaceport.

Welcome to Motavia the desert planet! Leave the Spaceport from the top and enter Paseo. Enter the far east shop. The shopkeeper will ask if you want to buy a rare creature for one billion Meseta. Decline his offer and he will notice your Laconian Pot. Trade it for the creature. Myau now joins your party! If you have 650 Meseta, go ahead and purchase the Thick Fur for Myau at the Armory. If not, you can come back and get it.

Go back to the Spaceport and head to Palma. Level up Myau to at least level four and make sure you have at least 340 Meseta. Head south from the Camineet Spaceport and enter the town Parolit. Go to the first shop and purchase a Titanium Sword for Alis in the Armory. Go to the third shop and buy a Flash so you can delve into Medusa's Cave. If you have 1400 Meseta, you can go ahead and purchase a Magic Lamp and have no need for Flashes anymore.

Gathering your Party

Save your game and head south of the wall surrounding Camineet, Parolit, and the Spaceport. There, you will find Medusa's Cave. Enter and use the Flash you purchased if you did not purchase a Magic Lamp. Enemies here a fairly simple. Only one treasure here is important. Head to the far southwestern corner of the map to find a petrified Odin. Cure his petrification with the Asulin that Myau possesses. Odin now joins your party! He states that Medusa possess' a Laconian Axe that he needs. Go to the north of the map and obtain the Compass. This will help you see the town of Eppi in Eppi Forest.

Leave the cave and head back to Camineet and receive a free heal from Suelo and save the game. Eppi Forest is southeast of Medusa's Cave. Its monsters are a bit harder and the amount of enemies that appear increase with the number of party members you have. Level up your characters here where Odin is at least level five. Have 510 Meseta acquired before you enter Eppi. The southwest building is the Armory. Go ahead and purchase the Needlegun and Bronze Shield for Odin. The Needlegun only does five damage to all enemies in battle, but it is effective when you encounter higher number of enemies. The very northern building is where the chief of Eppi is. Talk to him and he will ask if you are searching for the Dungeon Key. Say "yes" and he will tell you it's hidden in the Camineet Warehouse. Head back there and obtain the Dungeon Key from the northwest of the map.

Make sure you obtain the following items if you have not already before heading to Naula Cave. A great place to grind for Meseta is around Eppi Forest and that coastline.

We need to procure a gift for the Motavian Governor. If you have spoken with residents of Paseo on our earlier visit, you'll learn that the Governor loves Cake. Odd enough, the only way to find this Cake is in a cave. This is a continued joke in Phantasy Star through the franchise. Go north from the wall of Camineet and west of the Baya Malay wall until you reach Naula Cave. Make sure you go in with 280 Meseta. The Cake Shop is on Subfloor 3. If you sold Alis' Short Sword any time before now, you can obtain another on for Noah on Subfloor 1 on the southeastern corner. The baker asks for 1000 Meseta for a Cake, but he will only take 280 Meseta for unknown reasons.

It's time to obtain our final companion, the Esper Noah. Go to Paseo on Motavia take the Underground Passage to the Governor's Mansion. Give the Robotcop the Cake and he will let you pass. You can go to the blue house in front of the mansion to have your health and magic restored for free. He plans to aid Alis on her quest to take down Lassic and helps her in finding Noah. You obtain the Letter and the Governor advises you to stay and rest. You're then attacked by the Saccubus. This fight is not meant to be won. You quickly realize that it's just a nightmare and you continue your adventure.

Go north of Paseo through a path in the mountains and you'll find Naharu Cave. Stay away from the Antlion mounds. They are hard with very little reward if you do defeat them. We will only worry with two of the three floors here. You'll come back later to fight the Red Dragon when the party has grown stronger. This dungeon introduces floor traps, hidden walls, and trapped chests which are marked on the map. On Subfloor 1, you'll find Noah in the center of the map. Give him the Letter, and it will persuade him to join your party. He tells you to seek out Dr. Luveno in Gothic on Palma. Noah now joins the party! With a full party, head to Palma and level Noah to at least level 6.

Obtaining the Luveno

Go east of Camineet and journey to the end of the peninsula. There, you'll find Scion Cave. On Subfloor 3 you'll come across a Skeleton boss on the southern part of the map. It can be a single Skeleton or a group up to six enemies. The quickest way to take them down is by having all characters Attack other than Noah. Have Noah use Fire every round. Leave a reserve of 4 MP so that you can cast Exit after the battle to quickly leave the dungeon. After your victory, you will obtain the Iron Fang. Equip it to Myau and heal up at Camineet.

There will be NPCs in the town of Gothic and a few more elsewhere that will require you to have Colas to speak with them. Keep some in your inventory if you wish to talk to these NPCs. Head to the Spaceport and go to the service tunnel in the southwestern part of the map. This leads to the town of Gothic. It's a straight line to Gothic in the tunnel. You'll find that Dr. Luveno has gone insane and is locked up in Triada Prison. It's a good idea to enter the church here and nowhere else. You'll have to backtrack to Gothic numerous times and using Alis' Fly spell will bring you back here every time. Go along the east of the mountains south of Gothic until you reach the prison.

You can explore the prison, but there is only one enemy here that you don't even have to encounter. The only chest here is also empty and trapped. When you encounter the Robotcop, it will ask if you have your Roadpass. Make sure you tell it "yes." Otherwise, it will cause a battle and it will wipe out your party. Dr. Luveno's cell is through the first door straight ahead. It will be the second cell to your right. Talk to him multiple times until he decides to help you with a space shuttle. Make sure you have 1,200 Meseta before going back to Gothic. Go to Dr. Luveno's lab and give him the money to get started on building the space shuttle. Now, you'll need at least 9,500 Meseta before journeying further. Head south along the coastline until you reach the lava between the mountains.

Try to cross the lava while taking as little damage as possible. You will encounter random battles on the lava. Each step will cause damage, so keep an eye on your party's HP. Head north and then east to leave the lava. You'll encounter the village of Bortevo and a cave. Bypass the village and enter the cave. Head to the northwestern part of the cave and exit. Go east from the cave and go to the coastline between the rocks. Continue this route until you reach the town of Loar. Visit the hospital to heal and purchase a Heat Gun for Odin and a Silver Fang for Myau.

Continue your trek north and then west until you reach the town of Abion. Go to the First Food Shop and purchase the Polymetryl. Also purchase a Laser Shield for Noah. Alis and Odin can also use the shield, but it's no necessary to buy more unless you just want to. You'll have to grind for more Meseta because they are 4,800 Meseta a piece. Enter the Abion Warehouse and head to the northwestern exit. On the other side, you'll find Dr. Mad's laboratory. When you speak with him, he requests for you to hand over Myau for his experiments. If you surrender Myau, Dr. Mad kills him. Don't surrender Myau, it starts your battle with Dr. Mad. Have Alis and Odin attack with their weapons. Have Myau cast Wall and attack until Wall disappears. Noah can cast Wind for the battle. After you defeat Dr. Mad, you'll acquire another Laconian Pot.

If you followed the earlier advice of only entering Gothic's church, have Alis cast Fly and return to Gothic. Go back across the lava and enter Bortevo. Go the house with the blue door and use the Polymetryl on the pile of trash. You'll then obtain Hapsby the robot. Return to Gothic via Fly yet again. Speak with Dr. Luveno, and he will tell you the ship isn't complete. Exit and re-enter the workshop until he tells you the work is finished. Exit through the west side of town, and you'll find the Luveno in a grassy area. Hapsby will pilot the Luveno to Gothic on Palma, Uzo on Motavia, and Skure on Dezoris. Go to Uzo first.

Defeating Medusa

In Uzo, go to the house right beside the church. When the man asks if you've ever head about the Flute, say "no." He'll reveal that he buried one at the outskirts of Gothic. Take the Luveno back to Gothic. Go to the tree at the dead-end path in the southwest corner of town. Use the Search function in the menu to discover the Flute. This will make enemies fall asleep in battle, but it's not very effective. It will also make it where you can escape from dungeons when used, which is what we want it for. Now, travel back to Uzo. Purchase a Lightsaber for Alis. Make sure you save at least 5200 Meseta before making it to the next town, Casba.

Southwest of Uzo is Casba. Go south of the rocks and enter Casba Cave. Before exploring the cave, exit to Casba on the east side of Floor 1. When in Casba, go ahead and purchase the Landrover for 5200 Meseta at the right Second-Hand Shop. Talk to the man who lives in the right house of the two placed side-by-side. When he asks if you've heard of the Hovercraft, answer with "yes." Go back to the cave and fight the Red Dragon on Floor 1 behind the hidden wall. At this point he should be fairly simple. Use the usual attack loop with Alis and Odin attacking with their weapons, Myau casting Wall, and Noah casting Wind. The Red Dragon will drop another Lightsaber. Let Odin use this in boss battles, but keep the Heat Gun equipped while fighting normal enemies.

Head to Subfloor 2 and fight the Black Dragon in the most northeastern part of the floor. Remember to equip the Lightsaber to Odin before entering battle. He's a little stronger than the Red Dragon and is immune to Wall. Have everyone attack with their weapons other than Noah. Use his Wind spell. The Black Dragon will drop the Amber Eye. You can cast Fly with Alis and teleport back to the church in Gothic. Travel back around to Bortevo.

Go to the first rundown house in Bortevo on the west side of town. Use the search function to find the Hovercraft that was left. The Hovercraft allows you to travel over water and will keep you from taking damage on the lava. Head east of Bortevo to the end of the penisula and use the Hovercraft. Go southwest to the town of Drasgow. Enter the Drasgow Warehouse and go to the shop in the northeastern part of the map. There, you can buy the Gas Shield for 1,000 Meseta.

Head back to Gothic and fly to Uzo on Motavia. West of Paseo, which is north of Uzo, there is a body of water with an island. Go to the west of that body of water to find the town of Sopia. You can pass through the poison gas with the Gas Shield. Talk to the village elder at the left house in the center of the town. Donate 400 Meseta, and he will give you the tale of Perseus and his Mirror Shield that you need to defeat Medusa. Head to the island east of town. Stand on the cactus just below the Antlion hill and use the Search function and you'll find the shield. Equip it to Odin.

Go directly south of Sopia and you'll find Tajima Cave. Here you will find Noah's teacher, Tajima Tarzimal. Do not use any of Noah's magic while you explore this cave. He will have to fight Tarzimal alone. You'll find him on the north side of Subfloor 2. Have Noah cast Protect and attacked with Wind. If you happen to be able to continue casting Wind, finish with Fire and then his regular attack. You'll obtain the Frayed Mantle after defeating Tarzimal. Equip it to Noah and use the Flute to leave the cave. Head back to Gothic, heal your party, and save the game.

Go through the mountain pass south of Gothic. This will lead you to Medusa's Tower. The tower has many levels and can be confusing, so using the maps are a must to find her. You can obtain the chests, but there's no worthy treasure here. Take the staircase up on the northeastern part of Floor 1. This is the route to Medusa. You'll find her on Floor 7. Make sure the Mirror Shield is equipped before starting the battle. Avoid casting Protect or Wall. She will nullify their effects. Have everyone attack with their weapons and Noah cast Wind. Myau needs to be used to heal with Cure when need be. Medusa will drop the Laconian Axe. Use this in place of the Lightsaber when fighting bosses. Use the Flute to leave the tower and go back to Bortevo.

Obtaining the Laerma Nut

From Bortevo, go west until you find the Forgotten Tower on an island. As usual, the chests don't hold anything of real value. Make it to the Red Dragon on Floor 5 while going through various doors and dodging tracks. Do the normal battle loop with Alis and Odin attacking, Myau using Wall, and Noah using Wind. He will drop the Laconian Sword. Equip it to Alis. Next we will be adventuring on planet Dezoris for a while before coming back to Palma.

Return to Gothic and fly to Skure on Dezoris. Go through the Skure Passage which is straightforward save one chest of 500 Meseta through a hidden wall. You'll want to purchase a Laser Gun for Odin to use outside boss battles. Purchase a Wand for Noah and a Glove for Myau. Make sure you have 12,000 Meseta before reaching the next destination. Now go through the various caves and Twintown Passage until you reach Twintown. Go south of Skure to Dezorian Cave 1, north of Cave 1 to Cave 2, north of Cave 2 to Cave 3, east of Cave 3 to Cave 4, and then Twintown is east of Cave 4.

In Twintown go to the southwestern side of town and enter the right side Second-Hand Shop to purchase the Ice Digger. This will allow you to traverse through certain ice patches. They are hard to differentiate from the regular mountains, though. Leave town and head west past Dezorian Cave 4 across the wooded area to a clearing and head northwest. You'll find Guaron Morgue. There, you'll find the Laconian Armor for Odin in a trapped chest in the center of Floor 1. Use Myau's Trap spell on the tile before the floor trap, and then on the chest behind the door. Use your Flute to exit and head to Dezorian Cave 5.

Go back south towards the clearing and west along the mountains, and you'll find Dezorian Cave 5. It's a straightforward cave. When you pass through, go all the way to the west to Dezorian Cave 6. Here, you'll find the Laconian Shield for Alis on Subfloor 5 in the northern trapped chest. If you happen to travel through the left door at the beginning, you'll fall through a pit five floors to a trapped chest with nothing inside. You'll have to use the Flute to start over.

Close to Dezorian Cave 6 to the east on the north side going back to Cave 5 is Corona Tower. There is no boss here. Journey to the top of the tower around the many pitfalls and reach a Dezorian that will trade the Amber Eye you obtained earlier from the Black Dragon for the Eclipse Torch. Floor 2 is riddled with floor traps. Don't use the doors on Floor 2.

Travel back to Dezorian Cave 5. Once on the other side go southeast until you reach the ice. It will look like normal mountains. Use the Ice Digger to break through southeast until you reach the Aeroprism Cave. It's a small cave with one chest with a Magic Hat, an NPC that tells you how to use the Eclipse Torch, and the Titan boss. There is a chance that you could face two Titans. Have Alis, Odin, and Myau attack with their weapons. Have Noah cast Wind. Titan will drop the Aeroprism.

Bringing Peace to Algol

Make your way back to Camineet on Palma and visit Suelo to heal your party. Go to the church to set your waypoint for fast travel by casting Fly. You can keep your inventory full of Burgers from here on to help from using so much magic to heal in the next dungeons. Noah will need to be level 17 at this point so he can have the spell Open to proceed in further dungeons. Travel northeast and you'll come across Baya Malay Prison. Noah will need to cast Open on this door. When you come across the Robotcop, answer "yes" when he asks about your Roadpass, he will detect it's a counterfeit causing him to escort you to the Floor 2 cell. The door out is hidden four tiles up from the dead end, but will reveal when you turn left and face it. You'll have to answer "no" and fight the Robotcop to move further.

After leaving the prison, go northeast to Baya Malay Cave. Go through the cave and you'll come across more lava. Now that you have the Hovercraft, you can travel across without taking damage. You'll find Baya Malay on the other side. Your first tasks are to retrieve the Crystal and the Miracle Key. On Floor 1, go to the northern stairs leading up to Floor 2. Go all the way up to Floor 5, and you'll meet Damor who will give you the Crystal after answering his questions as follows: yes, yes, yes, no, no. Use the Flute to leave and re-enter Baya Malay. Go to the stairs leading up on the southeastern part of Floor 1. Go up to Floor 3, and it will lead back down to Floor 2. There's a trapped chest on the northwestern corner that holds the Miracle Key. Use the Flute to leave and cast Fly to go back to Camineet to heal and restock.

Travel back to Baya Malay. It's time to make your way to the Air Castle. Take the same route as you did to get the Miracle Key. When you reach Subfloor 1, take the stairs that lead down furthest east down those halls. When you make it back up to Floor 4 (yes, this place is a maze), go to the first set of stairs going up. They will be down the second path on the right when you get to Floor 4. Continue to the exit on Floor 5, but save before you do leave. After you leave, use the Aeroprism and the Air Castle will reveal itself. Next, feed Myau the Laerma Nut. He will transform and fly your party to the Air Castle. You will be met by the Gold Dragon. If a party member dies during this battle, reset and try again. Don't use any MP in the battle.

Make your way through Air Castle City to the Air Castle. Do not use any MP until you reach Lassic. It's a straightforward dungeon with one miniboss named Shadow on Subfloor 4. Save before entering each level. The enemies can be quite powerful. You can always use the Flute to leave. Before battling Lassic, make sure that Odin has the Laser Gun equipped. Either take a Transer with you or have Alis conserver 8 MP for Fly. Have Alis cast Fire against Lassic, while Myau attacks and casts Heal when needed. Odin attacks as usual and Noah should cast Wind. After avenging Nero by defeating Lassic, leave the castle and go back to Camineet to heal and save.

Go to Gothic and fly to Uzo on Motavia. You can use the Landrover to cross the antlion traps to reach Paseo north of Uzo. All of your party members should be around level 24 before trying to best Dark Falz. Go to the Governor's Mansion. You'll find that he isn't there and there's a secret entrance to a dungeon. It's straightforward as well. On Sublevel 3 the middle tile on the southern part of the map has a hidden door when you face south similar to the Baya Malay Prison Floor 2 door. Save before you battle Dark Falz. Make sure Odin equips the Laser Gun again for this battle. Dark Falz dodges melee attacks easily. Have Alis cast Fire. Dark Falz attacks twice every round, so have Myau heal every round after the first round. Odin will attack as usual and Noah needs to cast Wind. Finish his MP if it runs low with Fire. Dark Falz has 510 HP. After freeing the Governor from Dark Falz's control, Alis will be asked a question, and you'll be treated with the ending. Congratulations on saving Algol Star System from the evil Dark Falz!
